We Love You Papa - Always & Forever

Life will never be the same without Papa but we have so many great memories to guide our way. Papa was and always will be the best papa around. He loved you more than words. He loved watching you grow, listening to all of your stories, going to your soccer games and of course giving you snuggles. Although Papa is no longer with I can tell you that he will love you always and forever.

Shoofly Farm Camp

Kallie, Sara and Kate spent a week at Shoofly Farm Camp and loved it! It was a week full of holding animals, arts and crafts, collecting eggs from the chicken coop, riding horses, playing games, singing songs and learning about all of the animals on the farm (chickens, pigs, goats, horses, chinchillas, guinea pigs, kittens and more). She had so many fun stores to tell about their daily adventures, it was clear she was having a fabulous time! They ended the week with a big camp cookout followed but time to show us around the farm. She is already excited for next year!

ISC Gunners Select - First Soccer Tournament

Kallie's select soccer team played in their first tournament a few weeks ago. It was a big deal because it was also the first game they had played together as a team. All of the girls came to the tournament ready to play and wanting to win. They had a blast and played amazing, winning 2 and losing 2 coming in 3rd overall. It was so much fun watching Kallie play and seeing the determination on her face. We are excited she is on such a fun team and are ready for the season to officially start in September - Go Gunners

Beat the Heat

The summer weather has officially arrived in Seattle. It has been unusually warm (over 90 degrees) for the last few days so we have spent time fishing/swimming in the Snoqualmie River and taking our boat out on Lake Sammamish. It is definitely the best way to beat the heat around here since we don't have AC

4th of July on Vashon

The 4th of July on Vashon has been a one of my favorite family traditions since I was a little girl. This year I decided to take the week off and head up to the cabin a few days early with Kallie before Eric and the Boatman's joined us. We had a great time. The week consisted of the usual beach activities; going to the park uptown, agate walks, fishing, water fights, swimming and of course lots and lots of fireworks. Happy 4th of July!

Go Sounders!

This morning I decided to surprise Kallie with tickets to the Sounders game. Since her love for soccer grows every day I thought it would be a perfect thing to do on a Sunday afternoon. We left early so we could get the full experience which included exploring outside the stadium, hot dogs, popcorn, watching the teams warm up and cheering the entire game. We had a great day!

Last day of 1st Grade - Mrs. Clark

Kallie, Kallie, You did it, another great year at IVE! Mrs. Clarks first grade class was the perfect fit for you. Mrs. Clark was structured (which you like) but she also gave you freedom to be creative. I think having a small class of 17 kids allowed for more time to learn and grow as a class and an more importantly an individual.

You have a love for creative writing and over the last year your illustrations and details within your stories have flourished, it is pretty darn impressive if you ask me. You also love to read and finished the year beyond 2nd grade reading level. You started reading chapter books and just the other day you told me your book gets better and better every time you flip the page. Finally comes math, which is not your favorite subject because it challenges you but even when you were frustrated you never gave up . . . you kept at it and ended the year strong!

You also got to do some fun things in class like the Gardening Program, Writing Celebrations, Classroom Parties, Field Trip to the Zoo, The Art Program, Love Notes, Filling the marble jar for a reward (PJ Day) and so much more! Outside of class I am pretty sure your favorite activities are recess, PE and Cougar Club.
