Loving the Beach

Yesterday we spent time outside enjoying the sunshine. We watched Ella's lacrosse game followed by a fun afternoon exploring at the beach. Kallie loved both because she was able to do her two favorite things; pick flowers (weeds) and throw rocks.

Kallie also spent time decorating Grammy's bday card and creating a masterpiece with her crayons. She is still sort of figuring out how to use the crayons, she tends to bang them on the paper as hard as she can or eat them! Regardless I think she made a pretty good piece of artwork that is currently on display in our kitchen.

First Trip to the Dentist

Kallie had her first dentist appointment today. I had my cleaning first and then she sat on my lap for hers. I was pretty sure she would not be happy when she saw the dentist in his white coat and I was right, she immediately started crying. He got a quick glance when she was screaming and that was about it. Oh well we will try again in six months! She did love picking a toy from the treasure chest and her purple balloon!

You will notice there are no pictures of the dentist looking in her mouth . . . HA!

Swimming Take 2

Since Kallie loves playing on her tummy and pretending to swim in the bathtub I decided to try another round of swimming lessons. I am happy to report she loved every minute of her first class. She was smiling and giggling the entire time . . . I think having her buddy Cooper in her class helps make it even more fun!

A - B - C's

Kallie's latest trick is repeating the ABC's . . . she usually stops the minute I turn the camera but not last night. Pay close attention the M and N; she calls them "hammy"!

Happy 20 Months!

Kallie-
As usual I am amazed that another month has gone by. But I must say this month has been a fun one watching you explore and learn new things. Two of your most favorite things are swinging in your new swing we put in the backyard and blowing bubbles. When we drive home from work/school you immediately say “Dada, SWING” . . . so cute! You love seeing your daddy when we get home and you instantly convince him to take you to the backyard to swing and blow bubbles!

Speaking of being vocal you love it when we say the alphabet together. I say the letter first and you repeat it back to me smiling. I can tell you are really thinking about each letter as you say it . . . but your favorite letter is Z (you scream it loud and proud every time). You are also very interested in counting . . . I say one and you follow by saying two! BUT your favorite number right now is FIVE. Colors are becoming very interesting= to you as well. When we go on walks you point to flowers and we talk about the colors. If you don’t know what color it is you just say PINK!

You also really love going to daycare/school each morning. When we get to the door you say Nell/Shell and smile (Channelle and Michelle are two of your teachers). Your teachers are great at letting me know how your day was and consistently they tell me that you LOVE story time and singing songs. You are always an active participant and encouraging your buddies to dance and sing.

Although time seems to be speeding by I want you to know that your daddy and I are cherishing every moment! It is not every day that god blesses you with such an amazing gift . . . YOU . . . I love you baby girl!

So cool with Mommy's sunglasses but even cooler with her own sunglasses:

Happy Easter Weekend!

This weekend we were so happy to have sunny weather. It was just about 70 degrees on Saturday and Easter Sunday. While Eric went fishing on Saturday Kallie and I enjoyed going on walks with Coho and playing at the park. In fact, I think we were at the park more than we were at our house! Kallie loves playing on the toys but is even more fascinated by throwing rocks . . .HA! I guess it is true that you don’t need to spend tons of money on toys b/c kids usually like the packaging or better yet ROCKS (HA)!

We started off bright and early on Easter morning dying Easter eggs. I definitely want to make this a tradition like it was in my family. Kallie knew exactly what to do when we handed her the eggs and bowls of colored water. She had a blast dipping each egg in and deciding what color was next.

After we were finished with our eggs we headed over to Eric’s cousins house for brunch with his side of the family. Everyone enjoyed eating outside and the kids loved running around. Kallie is infatuated with her cousins Eli, Ethan and Nate. The kept her entertained running around and blowing bubbles all morning!

Later that afternoon we hosted dinner and off course an annual egg hunt with my side of the family. The kids played in the backyard the entire afternoon/evening and had a blast running around looking for eggs. Lucky for us Kallie has no idea there is candy inside of each egg! Grammy and Papa of course spoiled us all with Easter goodies and baskets for the kiddos.

I love sunny weekends and more importantly I love spending time with our families!
