Christmas Traditions

Christmas is always a special time for us, filled with traditions that bring everyone together. We started with our annual Santa photos — first just you, and then of course the classic shot for Grammy’s wall. You used to argue over who had to sit on Santa’s lap, but somehow, over the years, you all nominated Grammy instead! Then came the much-anticipated cookie-making day with Grammy and the cousins - this is a day you ALL look forward to!

Christmas morning was spent opening presents at home, we love to watch each other open gifts to slow things down a bit and enjoy.  We spent the afternoon being spoiled by Grammy with way too many gifts and a delish dinner.  This year we skipped the ornament exchange and had a "friendly" ping pong tournament - pretty sure we all had the same goal "Beat Uncle Brian".

It’s these moments—big and small—that make the holidays feel truly magical.

The Great Tree Hunt

Last night, we headed out to our favorite tree lot at the church near our house. It was chilly, as usual, but we caught a break in the clouds and made a run for it. We were on the hunt for a tall noble fir—and lucky for us, we found one!

At first, we noticed it was a bit “skinnier” than the trees we’ve had in years past, but once we decorated it with our ridiculous amount of ornaments, it looked just perfect.

Turkey Day and Family

Thanksgiving was extra special this year because Mimi and Papa came to visit!  We had a big group this year which is always the best part (well and the Seahawks played).  We ate turkey and pie until we were stuffed, played games, and spent lots of time just hanging out together.  There’s nothing better than family, food, and being thankful!

Best Friends

It’s hard to believe how far you’ve all come since those early days in 6th grade — a group of girls who just clicked from the very beginning. From the lunch table to sports, from Falcon Crew adventures to slumber parties, you ladies have something truly special.  The way you all show up for each other, cheer each other on, and make space for everyone to shine is truly special. Strong friendships like these are a gift, we can’t wait to see everything this year brings for you and your friends!

Celebrating 14 in Paris

We picked you up from soccer camp—a bit tired (well you were exhausted but so happy to see us — we  jumped straight into birthday mode.  First stop: a birthday shopping trip and lunch in London. It was so fun—just walking around picking out a few things, starting off your 14th with some much needed quality time after being away for a week.

Then came the best part—we took the Chunnel to Paris. Yes, underwater to France! You were so excited (but did take a little snooze) , and honestly, so were we. We got into Paris that evening, checked into the cutest little hotel, and didn’t waste any time. We dropped our stuff and walked straight to the Eiffel Tower. I’ll never forget the look on your face when it started to sparkle!

That night, we found a little café tucked under the tower and had the most perfect (and very late) birthday dinner. It was 11pm and we were still eating which i guess is a normal time for dinner in Paris.  You had your very first chocolate crepe for dessert (with a candle of course), and when the waiter brought it over, he started singing—then the neighboring tables joined in.  It was the sweetest moment.

I hope you remember that night forever. Your 14th birthday in Paris. The crepe, the singing, the sparkle of the Eiffel Tower behind you. It was pure magic—and I’m so glad we got to share it together.

We love you so much. Happy 14th. 💛
