Summer Fun!

This weekend the summer weather was in full swing. Eric and I decided to hang out around the house which is something we NEVER do. We bought Kallie a kiddie pool on Friday so we could have some fun in our backyard. Kallie aslo kept us on our toes but showing us two new tricks. She learned how to crawl up the stairs (baby gate time) and she walked with her baby walker for the very first time! And were off . . .

Happy 1st Birthday

Happy Birthday to you!!!
Last night when I was rocking you to sleep I started to tear up thinking about how fast time has gone by. I remember they day you were born like it was yesterday. You were so tiny for the first few months. We struggled to get you to eat and now you gobble up everything we put in front of you . . . and you have round chubby belly just like I did when I was a baby!

Over the last few months you have continued to amaze me. You have learned so many new tricks. Some of your favorites are waving, clapping, giggling, playing peek-a-boo, crawling after you dog and just today on your 1st birthday you pulled yourself up all by yourself!!! Your dad and I could not be more proud!

Our lives changed in the most amazing way when you were born and the last year has been the best year of my life. Ever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to be a mom, I just never knew how extraordinary journey would be. I feel so blessed and and thank God every day for bringing you into our lives. Happy 1st Birthday, I love you!

Love Mommy

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful trip to NY & NH to visit family. Kallie was such a trooper on the trip. To get there we had to take two flights, a ferry ride and drive almost two hours. . .even I wanted to have a meltdown after our long travel day.

The first part of our trip was spent in Saranac Lake with Eric's dad and step-mom. I am pretty sure they were more excited to see Kallie than they were to see us since they had only met her one other time. The weater was HOT so we spent a few days cooling off at Lake Clear, we rented a pontoon boat on Lake Flower, went to great dinners out, visited lots of family, sigh-seeing in Lake Placid and we even had a date night thanks to Mimi and Papa.

The second part of our trip was in Laconia, NH attending the Dupree/Doyle family reunion. It was extra special b/c Kallie was able to meet her great grandma Doyle and her new cousin Chloe who is just one month older than Kallie. We had a great time catching up with family and look forward to seeing everyone next year!

Happy 11 Months Baby Girl

A note for our baby girl . . .

Kallie you truly are the light of my life. Every day I thank god for giving us such a beautiful baby girl. You are growing up so fast right before our eyes. Your daddy and I love watching you play and learn new tricks. Most recently you started to crawl and I can't even begin to explain how proud we were to watch you crawl for the first time. You now have new world to explore and we know you will keep us on our toes!

Some of your favorite things are looking for birdies, eating Coho's toys (gross), laughing, waving, dancing/wiggling to music, crawling, eating and then of course putting your hands in your hair to make sure you get as messy as possible.

Kallie B we love you so very much . . . Happy 11 months baby girl!

Love,
Mommy & Daddy

And she's off . . .

Every day at lunch I visit Kallie B. I love peeking in the window before she can see me to watch her playing and having fun. Today was a very special visit, Kallie crawled for the first time and I was there to see it! I was so excited that I was actually there to see it . . . meant the world to me. She did it a few times of course I grabbed my phone to take a video so I could send it to her daddy. We are both so proud of our baby girl but we know our lives are changing forever!

Here she is tonight still crawling and having fun!

4th of July weekend on Vashon!

Kallie, Coho and I packed up and spend the long weekend at the cabin with my family while Eric spent the long weekend fishing with his buddies in Sitka. The summer weather finally arrived in Seattle so we were able to most of our time outside on the deck, taking walks on the beach and of course throwing the ball over and over and over for Coho (although he manages to play in the water just fine by himself until he sinks his "wilson". This weekend was Kallie's first overnight at Vashon and she did great. She slept like a champ at night and took long naps during the day so mommy was able to get some much needed vitamin D.
