Oahu: Our Happy Place

We were so excited to head back to Oahu for Spring Break.  This year we stayed at the Hilton on Waikiki.  It is the largest Hilton resort in the world with restaurants, a private lagoon and an outdoor shopping village.   Our room was great with deck and spectacular view of the ocean.

This trip felt relaxing because we ended up making plans as we went and didn't feel the need to get up and rush in the morning to get a spot at the pool (somehow Kallie always find one for us).   We spent the fist morning with Bump and family at a sunrise Easter Service.   After that we spent most of our time on the beach so Kallie could body surf, followed by afternoons at the pool and of course daily shave ice or smoothies to cool off.  We became experts at riding the double decker bus to the heart of Waikiki for shopping, big waves and dinners out.  

We did have a few adventures along the way.  Dad went on a guided fishing trip for a day so we decided (well I decided for us) to hike Diamond Head which had way too many stairs but a gorgeous view!  We took a road trip and did a ropes coarse as a family, I will admit it was much harder and higher in the air than I anticipated but we did it!   We rented a stand up paddle board one afternoon, watched fireworks on the beach and the rest of the time we just enjoyed being on vacation.  I am pretty sure we are all looking forward to our next trip, Oahu is definitely our happy place!

PS:  You got stung by a jellyfish our last full day but you were a trooper - a little vinegar and an ice pack and you were back in the pool a few hours later.  According the lifeguard it was a nasty sting!

Arizona Bound: GA Showcase

This weekend we traveled to Arizona for your first GA Showcase.  It was a mom daughter trip for most which made it fun but I know dad was sad not to be there.  It was definitely tough competition but you guys worked hard every step of the way and improved so much!  These trips are not all about soccer it is also team bonding which is so important.  We had fun team dinners and you guys made many trips to Target and even a little pool time!  Here's to many more fun travel trips and great soccer!

 

CMMS Varsity Soccer

So proud of you for making the varsity soccer team as a 6th grader!  You were nervous but we knew you could do it.  Most of the girls on the team play at different clubs so it was fun to watch everyone come together for CMMS.  You won some, lost some and tied but had fun every step of the way.  

It was a bit intensive b/c you three days a week you doubled up from CMMS to Club Soccer but never once complained.  Soccer is your passion and we love watching you grow as a player!

PacNW Winter Classic Champions

Congratulations for being the PacNW Winter Classic Champions!   It was an intense weekend of soccer with the finals against PacNW ending in PKs.  It was stressful but you all kept focused and came out Champions.  Thank you to Coach Anthony for being such a positive impact and believing in all of you ever step of the way.

 

New Years at the Rancy

We love heading up to The Ranch in Cle Elum to hang with the Hoys (and friends) for NYE.  This year the Hashaguchis joined in the fun.  We pack in a ton of fun from sledding to snowmobiling, driving the side by side and warming up and having smores by the bonfire.  You are quite the side by side driver and love to go fast I on the other hand like to go slow . . . yes I know I am boring.  

You are the only kiddo who made it up until mid-night hanging with the adults.  This year we had quite the ping pong tournament late night which was super fun along with Buck Hunter of course.  It's always a short trip but we look forward to it every year!

Merry Merry Christmas

Christmas is your favorite day of the year  . . . and dads b/c you both love presents!  Actually you both love giving presents as well :)  Per tradition we have a slow morning at home watching each other open gifts (even Murphy).  We start with stockings and then move to the big stuff! My favorite gift was the Murphy sweatshirt dad had made for both of us!  I think your favorite gifts was your air pods since you love listing to music.  

Annual cookie decorating is also a fun tradition you have with Grammy and your cousins!  You love spending time with family and can't wait to see everyone especially since Sophia and Ella are in college and you don't get to see them very often.

 

Holiday Fun with Friends

December is always a busy time of year - lots of parties, sleepovers, cooking making and of course spending time with friends!  This year your soccer had great outfits thinks to Sabrin -tutus and all!  Your team did great and had a blast - it is always in intense but fun tournament where we run into so many old teammates. 

You also has some new friends from CMMS over Mary Anne and Kate to exchange gifts and decorate cookies (mostly you ate frosting).  It is so fun to see you grow in middle school and make some amazing friends.  Of course Maddie fits into the picture as well . . . nothing better than a BFF sleepover!
