Soccer and more Soccer

Kallie started playing soccer when she was 4 years old. Her love for the game has grown each year. This year she is on a Gunners Select team and is loving every minute of it. She is practicing 2x's a week with games on the weekends. It is a big commitment but one she loves so we are all in. Watching her improve her ball skill each week has been the best part. She started a bit hesitant but now has no fear! Defense and midfield are where she excels because she is not afraid to go after the ball and recovers well when needed. You should see her game face, priceless!

The move from rec soccer to select has been a great step for her. She has learned so much and made great new friends along the way (we have too). We are excited to see how the girls do this season, so for they are 3-0!!!

First day of 2nd Grade

This week is all about back to school. We went to the school meet and greet to check out Kallie's new classroom and meet her teacher Mrs. Harper. She was so excited that she has her own desk and how many books are in the classroom library. Although it is sad to see the summer come to an end I am ready to get back to our routine.

This morning Kallie walked down the stairs and said "Mommy I am really excited for school today". I love her enthusiasm, so much that we were at the bus stop 20 minutes early! When I picked her up from Cougar Club she said she had a great day minus hearing about all of the rules.

The sky is the limit my girl, you will do amazing things. Here's to another successful year! We love you

Being 8 is great!

We spent the weekend celebrating Kallie's 8th birthday. She was up bright and early Saturday morning ready to open gifts. Her big gifts were and LOL doll, kids fit bit and her first fish, a beta she named DJ. We spent the afternoon at the movies followed by dinner Red Robin so they can sing her Happy Birthday. After dinner we always head to frozen yogurt for dessert!

Sunday was her day to spend with friends at the Flying Circus for her birthday party. She and 15 of her best buddies were bouncing, jumping, climbing, conquering obstacle courses, eating pizza and of course ending it all with cake and ice cream (an emoji cake to be exact). It was a great birthday weekend!

Kallie, Today you turn 8 and we could not be more proud of the amazing young lady you have become. You are smart, curious, loving, empathetic, energetic, athletic and most importantly kind to everyone you meet. You love animals (especially cheetahs), playing soccer, spending time with your cousins on Vashon, swimming, exploring outside, riding your bike and school. We love watching you accomplish your goals because you can do anything you put your mind to.

This year you are off to 2nd grade and we know you will have a great year.

We love you to the moon and back!

We Love You Papa - Always & Forever

Life will never be the same without Papa but we have so many great memories to guide our way. Papa was and always will be the best papa around. He loved you more than words. He loved watching you grow, listening to all of your stories, going to your soccer games and of course giving you snuggles. Although Papa is no longer with I can tell you that he will love you always and forever.

Shoofly Farm Camp

Kallie, Sara and Kate spent a week at Shoofly Farm Camp and loved it! It was a week full of holding animals, arts and crafts, collecting eggs from the chicken coop, riding horses, playing games, singing songs and learning about all of the animals on the farm (chickens, pigs, goats, horses, chinchillas, guinea pigs, kittens and more). She had so many fun stores to tell about their daily adventures, it was clear she was having a fabulous time! They ended the week with a big camp cookout followed but time to show us around the farm. She is already excited for next year!

ISC Gunners Select - First Soccer Tournament

Kallie's select soccer team played in their first tournament a few weeks ago. It was a big deal because it was also the first game they had played together as a team. All of the girls came to the tournament ready to play and wanting to win. They had a blast and played amazing, winning 2 and losing 2 coming in 3rd overall. It was so much fun watching Kallie play and seeing the determination on her face. We are excited she is on such a fun team and are ready for the season to officially start in September - Go Gunners

Beat the Heat

The summer weather has officially arrived in Seattle. It has been unusually warm (over 90 degrees) for the last few days so we have spent time fishing/swimming in the Snoqualmie River and taking our boat out on Lake Sammamish. It is definitely the best way to beat the heat around here since we don't have AC
