Letter to Daddy

Eric-

I talked to Kallie and we wanted to write you a little note to wish you a Happy Father's Day! You are the most amazing daddy I know. I always knew you would be a great dad but great does not even begin to describe the type of father you are . . . AMAZING is more like it.

I will never forget the moment when we saw Kallie for the first time, we both looked at here in amazement with tears in our eyes. She had you wrapped around her little finger from that moment on.

I remember when we brought Kallie home for the first time we just looked at each other and wondered what we were supposed to do next. We worked as a team and took it one day at a time.

Here we are 22 months later . . . and I feel so lucky to be on this journey with you. Thank you for being the best daddy and husband in the world. Happy Father's day . . . We love you!

Happy 22 Months Baby Girl!

Kallie- Today you turn 22 months old and continue to be the light of my life. You are such a spunky little girl that likes to keep us on our toes. You let us know exactly what you want and if you don’t get it you let us know that too (emotional just like your mama).

Your vocabulary is expanding every day. You are like a little parrot repeating everything we say . . . which can be good and bad if we are not careful! In the last month you have started to put 2 and sometimes 3 words together which is so fun. Some of your favorite words/phrases are:

Oh brother (Nana taught you this)
Birdies (sounds like boobies!)
Daddy Truck
Stop Sign
Bees
Siren Truck
Crabbies Beach
Kallie’s Jammies
Nake-Nake (which means you want to be naked)
Ah-Ha
Cup Cake (when referring to your cup cake sleepsack)
Follow Mommy

< You also love to read books, usually the same ones over and over and over and over! Your current favorite books to read before bed/nap are:

Good Night Ocean
The Armadillo Book – (you call them “Dillos”)
The Animal Book
Where’s Spot
Oliver (you call the book “Ollie”)

One of your favorite things to do is play chase with daddy. You both have strollers and run around the house chasing each other squealing with a big grin on your face (Daddy of course lets you win). You also love riding your scoot bike around the kitchen, pretending to make soup which we all have to taste, coloring, and playing your new Ernie and Bert dolls (courtesy of Grammy).

Watching you grow and discover the world has been so much fun. I am excited to see what’s next! I love you baby girl, Happy 22 months!

Holiday Weekend at the Beach

I love long weekends and more importantly I love spending time on Vashon. Vashon is the one place I can actually relax . . . WAIT not this year because Kallie was on the GO GO GO! I don’t think I sat down until she went to bed but watching her dig in the sand, pick up crabbies with Papa, go on a boat ride and play with her cousins was priceless. I know she is going to enjoy going to the beach as much as I did when I was little and that makes me very happy!
I am sure her daddy will be even more excited when he can take her fishing for the first time at the beach. She even has a pink fishing pole waiting for her!

A note to my baby girl on Mother's Day!

Kallie Let me start by saying, I am so proud to be your mom. Becoming a mom has been the biggest accomplishment in my life. I always knew I wanted a family I just had no idea how life changing it would be until you were born.

I will never forget holding you for the very first time, it truly was love at first site. You were so tiny yet the love I felt for you was larger than words. It was from that moment on I knew that I was the luckiest mom in the world.

I can only hope to be as good of a mom to you as my mom is to me! I love you baby girl.

Love,

Mama

Happy 21 Months!

Kallie- Today you turn 21 months old and we continue to fall more in love with you as each day goes by. I am pretty sure tell you at least ten times a day that mommy loves you and you always follow that up by saying “Daddy, Coho, Doll Doll”? I then reassure that Daddy, Coho, and Doll Doll love you too. The best party about all of that is that you say “Wuv You” back and it melts my heart each time.

One thing you like to do which your daddy says you got from me is TALK! You talk from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to bed. On our way to school you talk about birds, cars, boats, airplanes and much more. I am amazed by how many new words you seem to be learning on a daily basis. Some of your new words are: tunnel, flower, burp, on, off, inside, outside, bike and you new favorite “excuse me”. Generally you say “toot” followed by “excuse me” and a huge giggle, which makes your daddy and I crack up every time!

You also enjoy scooting around on your princess car or bike chasing Coho and going for walks to the park. You look at every flower and rock along the way so it takes quite a long time to get to the park which is 5 houses away but to be honest I think walking there is your favorite part.

One of the biggest accomplishments this month was learning how to say your name! You point to yourself and say “Kallie” which you pronounce “Ka-Yeee”, Prior to this you thought your name was Bee b/c we always call you Kallie B or just B.

I wish I could explain to you how much I love but I just can’t get it into words. What I can tell you is that your daddy and I are so proud of you and feel blessed to have you as our baby girl.

We love you!

Weekend Sunshine

We enjoyed another sunny weekend in Seattle! We took full advantage of the sunshine spending lots of time at the park, swinging in the backyard, throwing the ball for Coho, testing out our new sandbox (thanks to cousins Sophia & Ella) and Kallie even helped her dad mow the lawn! Kallie met lots of kiddos at the park on Sunday. Most of the kids there were bigger than her but she had no idea . . . she would chase them around yelling “Hi” & “Tunnel” over and over and over again (HA)! On Sunday we went to Tacoma to have some family photos done by my dear friend Bradie. Stay tuned for pictures!
