Compass Bike Camp Adventures

Kallie and Maddie went to Compass Outdoor Adventure camp this week with our neighbor Hannah and a few friends.   The camp is in North Bend and all outdoors.   Each day they bike to their destination and get to explore the outdoors.  Hiking, swimming, biking, geo-caching - they did it all.  On the last day they took a van to Snoqualmie Pass and rode 25 miles back to North Bend.  They even got to go through the famous Snoqualmie Tunnel with flashlights attached to their bikes.  The tunnel is 2.5 miles long and pitch black!   I used to be an old railroad tunnel back in the day that you can now walk/bike through.    Such a fun experience for the girls!

4th of July - Vashon Traditions

We had another fun 4th of July weekend on Vashon with family.  The weather was not perfect but the kids still managed to swim like fish and jump off the bulkhead while the adults went up town and did a little wine tasting.  As always the fireworks from the barge were amazing as we snuggled up on the deck.  Happy 4th of July!

 

Goodbye IVE

IVE has felt like home for the last six years, so very thankful for all of the amazing staff, good friends and fun activities.  I thought it would be fun to capture a few of your favorite things about your time at IVE!

1. What was your favorite grade at IVE and WHY?    2^nd grade because Ms. Harper was the best b/c she had a big chair thing with 6 cup holders and she was just nice

5. What did you like at recess?  Kick Ball
6. What was something that made you laugh this year?  When Ms. Young gave Grant the evil teacher eyes.  And when we got to impersonate Ms. Young on the last day of school
7. What activities did you do?  Student Leadership & Recess Coaching, Cougar Store
8. Favorite packed lunch?  Chicken nuggets or rice
9. Favorite Color: Baby blue, baby yellow, baby purple, neon green and orange
10. Fav Animal?   Giraffe & hedge hog
11. Fav book?  Coyote Sunrise & One of the Murphy’s
12. Most important thing people like the most about you?  Honest and give good advice
13. Least favorite subject? Math
14. What are you looking forward to in Middle School.  Lockers, new and more friends, new teachers, trying new sports.
15. What did you love the most about IVE?  The PEOPLE!!!!
16. What are you excited about this summer?  Camp!
17. Favorite song or band?  Dandylions & Time of our Lives!!!

Last day of 5th Grade (2022)

It's hard to believe today is your last day of 5th grade and IVE.  When you started IVE in 2016 I was a nervous kindergarten mom - walking away from the bust top with tears in my eyes wondering if you would be ok all day without us.  Now today I have tears in my eyes because IVE has been your home for the last six years and it is coming to an end.  It has been full of ups, downs and twists and turns but amazing all at the same time.  Your teachers have supported you, encouraged you and pushed you in all the right ways.  We are so proud of you and all you have accomplished along the way.

Gliders Track & Field

 

You have been waiting to try track for quite some time and now it's finally your turn.  You are quite the track star - loving the 400M, 200M and Javelin.  You have a competitive spirit which helps you kick in in to high gear at the end and win.  This season was quite the success - lots of 1st place ribbons hanging in your room.  We are looking forward to watching you next season in middle school.
