Snow Days and more Snow Days!

Snow and more snow ... this year we had 7 snow days! I think this is the most snow I have ever seen in Seattle. On two different occasions we got over 6 inches of snow overnight. Seattle is definitely not prepared for that kind of snow but we took full advantage sledding with friends day in the neighborhood.

2nd Grade Concert

The IVE 2nd Graders did such a great job at their performance. The kids work hard for months perfecting each song and boy did their hard work pay off.

2nd Grade Basketball - Mean Green Dragons

Second grade basketball season is upon us and we are ready. Kallie was not sure she wanted to play this year but I am glad she decided to give it a shot one more time. She has improved a ton and is an expert at defense. We had our first game last weekend and won! Kallie made her fist basket of the season and could not have been more pleased. Go Mean Green Dragons!

Happy New Years

Cle Elum is our favorite spot to ring in the New Year with friends. This year we decided to stay for a few days and it was a much smaller group which was kind of nice. It is pretty amazing that we can drive 1 hour from Issaquah and end up in a winter wonderland. Kallie loves the snow and so does Coho of course. We did lots of sledding, snowmobiling (not me I am too afraid), feeding horses, sledding some more, doughnuts in the side by side, dice games and just hanging out . . . It was a perfect way to start the new year!

Christmas Break Adventures

This was the second year in a row we decided not to send Kallie to camp over break and have her stay home instead. I think it is important for all of us to take time off during the holidays, spend time with family and find time to relax. We kept busy and had a great week watching movies, ice skating, being tourists in Seattle at the Aquarium & Wings of Washington and having a fun family dinner at the Melting Pot. We all enjoyed the time off and feel recharged for the New Year.

Christmas Magic 2018

Kallie usually gets up REALLY early (like 5am)on Christmas morning but this year Eric and I were up before her waiting to hear her footsteps running towards are room. When she did come in around 7am she yelled “Merry Christmas”. This year she wanted us to open gifts one by one so we could watch each other. I loved it b/c it made the morning a bit longer, usually we are done opening gifts in 20 minutes. She loved all of her gift from Santa and pretty much got everything she asked for (minus the live chinchilla) – Twister, LOL dolls, Soccer Net, Snuggle Pup, Children’s Cookbook and lots of other little things. We spent the afternoon at my mom’s house where we still get spoiled with stockings and gifts.

This year definitely felt different with out my dad but we talked about him, tried on his favorite hats, shed a few tears and toasted to him at dinner. Christmas will never be the same with out Papa but we will never forget all of the special memories we have and the strong family he helped create.
