Pumpkin Patch 2015
Today was the perfect day for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. After finding two perfect pumpkins we went on a hay ride, Kallie rode the train (technically a tractor disguised as a train pulling a few carts) and last but not least taking a turn using the pumpkin catapult!
Next up ... Pumpkin carving!

Annual Trip to Salmon Days
It is that time again ... Salmon Days! Eric and I have been going since we started dating in 2009 and now it has become a family tradition that we look forward to every year.
A Day at the Circus
A few weekends ago we decided to surprise Kallie with a fun day at the circus! We decided not to tell her where we wer going until we got there and by the look on her face it was obvious she was so excited and the show did not disappoint.
We went to the pre-show which was perfect for kids. They got to see many of the animals/acts up close and even had a chance to volunteer to participate which Kallie loved. She hula hooped and jumped rope in front of everyone! It was all fun and games UNTIL one of the elephants was kicking a beach ball into the crowd and it hit her right in the belly. Although she was quite traumatized that an elephant would do such a thing she was able to get past it and enjoy every moment of the show from the edge of her seat (literally).
We loved watching her face light up with joy and I will admit we thought it was pretty cool too!

Let Soccer Season Begin
Kallie has been playing soccer for about two years now. We started her in Little Kickers followed by a skills class. She was a bit hesitant at first but now loves going after the ball, scoring goals and most importantly she has so much fun!
With the indoor season coming to an end we decided to give outdoor soccer a try and she loved it! Her team is the Sunsets and she met lots of new friends. I have a feeling soccer might be her thing...I secretly hope it is since I played competitive soccer!

Glamping Adventure
The first every Bates/Woods family camping (well Glamping) trip was a success, even if we were only in North Bend! I think the kids thought we were hours away and definitely camping since we did in fact sleep in sleeping bags. Lucky for me we were in a yurt not an actual tent.
It was a beautiful day so we spent most of our time playing in the river, going on adventure walks, sitting by the bonfire and of course ending our night with smore's!

Happy 5th Birthday!
Kallie had quite the birthday celebration this year. Just like her daddy her birthday turned into birthday week . . . as it should be when you are turning 5 years old!
Kallie was so excited for her gymnastics birthday party she asked us every day how many days until her birthday party. When the day did finally arrive she was all smiles from beginning to end. The kids spent two hours running, jumping, swinging and most importantly having a great time. From what I could tell the foam pit was the biggest hit for the kids AND the adults. All and all the party was a big success and we had a very happy 5 year old!
Last year I took the day off on Kallie's birthday so I decided to do the same this year and officially make it a mommy/daughter tradition. This year she decided she wanted to go to the zoo so off to the zoo we went. She was in charge of the map so we made sure to see everything on her list! After the zoo we had lunch with daddy at his office followed by dinner with Grammy/Papa and Nana/Doug at our house. We had Kallie's favorite meal; cheeseburgers, corn on the cob and tater tots. I would say it was a pretty perfect day with with my girl and I can't wait to see what adventures we will get up to over the years.
