Easter 2015

We had quite the fun filled Easter.  Kallie was so excited she was up at 6am wishing us a Happy Easter and wondering if the Easter bunny left her a little something.  I am happy to say the Easter bunny did come and as you can see she was one happy little girl.  She loved her Easter basket and the hidden eggs around the house.

We had a great day all around, starting with brunch and an egg hunt at Erika and Viktors followed by our neighborhood egg hunt and finally dinner and ANOTHER egg hunt at grammy and papa's house.  It was a great day!

Easter Eggs

With Easter just around the corner tonight was the perfect night to dye Easter eggs.  Kallie wanted to do it all by herself and she did a great job!  We are officially ready for Easter this weekend.

Spring in in the air

We have had some great Spring weather over the last two weeks.  Yesterday we spent most of the day outside enjoying the weather.  We planted the flowers Kallie and Eric picked out, planted the garden and spent a few hours at the lake flying kites and splashing in the water (it was freezing but the B didn't care).

Bring in Summer the Bates we are ready for sunshine...luckily we head to Mexico in two weeks for a little Vitamin D!  

This is my favorite tree we planted as a family...it has a very specially place in our hearts❤️

The big 4-0

Well it's officially I turned 40 on Saturday, I am in denial.  Kallie on the other hand was SO excited to celebrate.  She woke me up at 6am sharp standing next to my side of the bed (one inch from my face) yelling Happy Birthday Mommy. . . I nearly fell out of bed but loved it at the same time.  Kallie and Eric were sneaky and surprised me with balloons, presents and she even prepared a bday cheer.  Unfortunately I was feeling a bit under the weather so instead of the big BDay bash Eric had planned we went to the park to fly a kite for the first time and had my family over for dinner which was perfect.  Don't worry I have a girls weekend in Palm Springs in May so I will have plenty of time to celebrate in the sunshine!  Bring it on 40!!!

Spring in February?

We have had unusually sunny & warm weather this winter.  In fact this weekend was sunny and almost 60 degrees!  We took advantage of the nice weather and spent the afternoon at Kelsey Creek Farm running around and checking out the animals.  

Happy Valentine's Day

Kallie loves Valentine's Day...her favorite part is making Valentines for her friends and giving mommy and daddy extra snuggles which of course we love.  Since I was still fighting a horrible head cold we spent the day relaxing and heading out for burgers as a family.

I feel so lucky to have two very special Valentines❤️ (well 3 if you includes Coho...he was my first born after all).

The Bates Infirmary

January was a month of sickness at the Bates household.  First Kallie had walking pneumonia and then Eric had it shortly after.  They were both better for about a week and then went down again with a horrible cough.  We have cleaned, work masks, cleaned some more and everyone is ALMOST healthy one month later (well minus the fact that I have a head cold but who's keeping track, mom's can't get sick)!
