Kids say the darn'dst things!

Sometimes I forget how literal kids take things and most importantly that they only know what we teach them! Here are two funny back and forth conversations I had with Kallie recently that I had to document!

Kallie: Mama can we get a kitty cat?
Me: Sorry honey, mommy is allergic to cats
Kallie (starting to cry): Mama you don't eat cats!

I guess my peanut allergy kiddo does not realize you don't eat everything you are allergic to :)

Me: Kallie we have to let the dogs out quick?
Kallie: Why?
Me: Because they might pee their pants
Kallie (starting to cry): Mama doggies don't wear pants!

Rainy Day Fun

This weekend was a rainy stormy weekend but we decided to make the best of it, we do live in Seattle after-all. On Sunday we started to get a bit stir crazy so Eric asked Kallie if she wanted to go on an adventure, of course she said yes! With that we headed to the salmon hatchery in Issaquah to splash in puddles and check out all of the salmon - it was a huge hit!

After our outdoor adventure we were on a mission to find a skeleton. Kallie has been talking about getting one to decorate our house for Halloween. We ended up getting a few arts and crafts so she could make the perfect skeleton on her own. I have always preferred having her make decorations versus buying fancy ones at the store because she loves it and I love hanging her masterpieces around that house!

Swim Lessons

Kallie has taken swim lesson in the past and for the most part she loved them. Now that she is three she can take lessons without mom or dad in the pool (WHOOHOO). A friend of my recommended Tiger Mountain Aquatics because they really focus on actual swimming versus playing games and the classes max out at three kiddos.

From the moment Kallie got out of bed she was ready to go! She was a bit shy walking into the pool (it is a covered pool in someones backyard)but once it was her turn to get in she was all smiles. I would say today was a success!

Dentist Round 2

This morning was our second attempt at the dentist and I am happy to report that it was a SUCCESS! It only took three stuffed animal buddies, sitting on mommies lap and wearing her sunglasses to make it happen . . . but hey whatever works! Kallie was so proud of herself and could not wait get home to tell daddy all about it. She even insisted that I floss her teeth tonight with her new princess floss, that's my girl!

Cousins

Kallie was so excited for her cousin Ella to spend the weekend with us and Coho's cousin Buddy to come too. When Ella and I picked Kallie up for school she literally jumped for joy. She had told everyone about her cousin and how she was spending the night. Kallie was Ella's shadow the entire weekend (kinda nice for me!). We went to Ella's soccer game, played at the park, made cookies, played games, went to paint the town and most importantly had fun! Here are a few pics of the girls having a great time.

First Day of Preschool - September 2013

Today was Kallie's first official day of Preschool at daycare. Kallie and some of her friends visited their new preschool room a few times over the last few weeks to get comfortable with the new teachers and meet some new friends. She has been talking about it ever since. Needless to say she was excited and ready for her firs day of preschool. I am one proud mama!!!

End of Summer Fun

This weekend we took a family trip to the Snoqualmie River for a little family fun. Kallie loves playing in the water, throwing rocks, fishing with daddy, getting muddy, making sand angels, being naked as a jaybird and of course ending our adventure with a picnic in the sand. It was the perfect way to spend the day as a family . . . we definitely need to do this more often!
