Fish, Fish and more Fish

This morning we decided to take Kallie to the aquarium for the first time. We figured she would like it since she loves looking at the fish tank at the pediatrician, and she did. I think she was amazed by how many fish there were and how she could practically touch them we were so close. I loved watching her face as she discovered a new fish everywhere she looked, it was priceless.

We ended our morning adventure with a carousel ride. I am not sure that was Kallie's favorite part of the day :)

A very Merry Christmas

This year we started our Christmas festivities on Friday 12/23 with Eric's family. We had everyone over for lunch and to exchange gifts. Kallie loves playing with her cousins.

We had Christmas Eve dinner with my family at Laurie and John's house followed by our annual Christmas caroling at Jim and Terri's. Kallie loved dancing around and being the center of attention.

We enjoyed a nice Christmas morning at our house. Kallie was full of energy bouncing around all morning. She is still a bit young to understand Christmas and the idea of opening presents but she did love playing with the wrapping paper and of course all of the boxes!

I feel so blessed to have such a beautiful daughter & loving family. I am not sure I could ask for anything more. Merry Christmas Kallie B . . . mommy and daddy love you always and forever!

A tradition begins . . .

This year I thought it would be fun to start Christmas Eve mom/daughter cooking decorating tradition. I know Kallie is a bit young but even at 16 months she thought it was a blast. It took a few cookies before she realized she was not supposed to squish them but once she figure it out the sprinkles were flowing! I can't wait to keep this tradition going for many years to come!

Lights, Lights and more Lights!

So far this holiday season Kallie's favorite thing to do is look at Christmas lights. We walk up and down our street looking at all of the lights. When we go for walks she points at all of the lights along the way. She still seems a bit perplexed by the big light up snowman and flamingo but loves them none the less.

Last night we took a quick trip to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. The lights were absolutely amazing and Kallie loved every minute of it. She was pointing at all of the lights and smiling. I will admit that her favorite part was walking around the entrance of the garden looking at the lights that were just her size :)

Happy 16 Months

Happy 16 months Kallie B! I continue to be amazed by you each day. You are becoming your own little person with a feisty personality. Currently your most favorite thing to do is read books with mom and dad. Every night when we get home from work/daycare you immediately walk to your basket full of books to pick a few for us to read over and over and over. Your favorites at the moment are; I love you Mommy, I love you Daddy, Colors, Pajama Dance, The Going to Bed Book and your Animal book.

You also love to climb up and down the stairs, play in your tunnel, bath time, feed Coho from his food tub, use a fork (sort of), throw your food on the floor at every meal (not so funny), make animal noises (cow, horse, snake, lion, bear, owl) and spin around on the floor in circles which makes you dizzy. Currently your words are: mama, dada, dog, papa, duck, coho and of course no (as you wave your finger in the air).

Your favorite foods are: mac & cheese, turkey hot dogs, waffles, bananas, peaches, cheese, puffs, raisins, oatmeal, yogurt (vanilla & peach). You refuse to eat pretty much any vegetable I put on your plate even if I try to hide it inside your pasta!

Kallie, we love you more and more each day and look forward to watching you learn and grow. XOXOXO

A visit with Santa

Kallie was all dressed up and ready to see Santa on Sunday. I was not sure how she would react but I can now tell you that she was NOT happy to see Santa or the mechanical reindeer that was next to him. I think this picture pretty much sums up how she feels about Mr. Claus!

Christmas Tree Hunt

Today my entire family drove to Snoqualmie in search of the perfect Christmas tree(s). We had a great time walking around enjoying the chilly but perfectly sunny morning. Kallie looked like the state puff marshmallow man in her puffy coat and hat! After about 45 minutes of searching we had cut down the perfect tree.

We decorated our tree this afternoon and had a special guest. . . Papa was her all the way from Florida. It was so fun decorating the tree and watching Kallie's curiously taking it all in. She touched the tree a few times but mainly sat quietly (well not really) in a chair watching us decorate. This holiday season is going to be so fun! Happy Holidays.
